Een inheems woord
Daar zou ik meervoud van willen maken. Inheemse woorden, dat vind ik woorden die je zelf maakt, of die in familie of gezin ontstaan en die buitenstaanders niet begrijpen. Ik ben er dol op. Het maakt de band concreet. Geheimtaal waar de buitenwereld niet van weet. Alleen als je ze uitlegt begrijpen ze het een beetje, maar halen vaak hun schouders op. Wel raar. Een populair eigen woord bij ons thuis was : potloodsmaak. Dat was de smaak die plakjes cervelaatworst kregen als ze te lang hadden gelegen. Heel logisch vonden we. Nog eentje dan. Op verjaardagen aten we ’Bakker Buisjes’, dat waren tompoezen van een bakker die Buis heette. Niks bijzonders.
Soms kregen huishoudelijke voorwerpen een eigen naam. We hadden een soort broodmes, dat we consequent ’het grote mes’ noemden. We raakten helemaal in het ongerede als ‘het grote mes’ niet te vinden was. Toen binnen mijn eigen gezin het knäckebröd in zwang kwam, noemden we dat ’knabbels’. Uit kindertaal ontstaan, maar ook jaren later nog vroegen we aan volwassen mee-eters serieus of ze soms nog een knabbel lustten? Wij begrepen hun vragende gezichten niet. Nou zeg, Je weet verdorie toch wel wat een knabbel is…

Inderdaad mooi die privé woorden maar inderdaad gevaarlijk als ze hun plaats innemen in de eigen taal.
Ken jij White-Spirit? Waarschijnlijk wel maar voor ons, Meralica en ik is White- Spirit de buurvrouw die altijd met haar benen open zit. Gênant als je plots haar echte naam vergeten bent.
